The original name of our club was Grays Harbor Bassers, which had its grass roots start back in 1977. The very first tournament was held on our once great Bass fishery- Duck Lake in Ocean Shores WA. The fore founding members were Mike Murphy, Jim Furubotten, and Claude Dewald.
The club grew to 23 members most of which worked for the Weyerhaeuser Co. Tournaments were one day events when held on the westside, and weekend events were held in eastern Washington. Grays Harbor Bassers was an independent Bass club with no affiliation to any national Organization.
In 1996 the club split and became Coastal Bassmasters with affiliation to the national organization of BASS. With that came membership into Washington State BASS Federation. In 2006 the State Federation split into two groups - FLW & BASS, our club voted to stay with BASS, and is a member of the Washington State Bass Nation.
Today we are a small club made up of some of the most dedicated and passionate bass fishermen anywhere. Our main goal is to enjoy bass fishing on Washinton's many waterways with friendly competitions between our members.
